First Year Resident Orientation
The Indiana University Family Medicine Residency program requires
that all first year residents successfully complete an initial
month-long "Orientation." This unique direction allows for
the resident:
- more opportunities for supervised
patient care opportunities,
- hands-on exposure to and practice
with bedside and clinic procedures,.
- social interaction with fellow
residents and with faculty,
- familiarization with the
"business of medicine" in our facilities,
and much, much more. This orientation
program was designed with input from both students and faculty and
their ideas on ways we could assist new residents with their
transition from student to practitioner.
