Faculty and Staff

Current and former faculty members within the department have been active leaders in government, the School of Medicine, and several professional organizations including the Indiana Academy of Family Physicians, American Academy of Family Physicians, the Society of Teachers of Family Medicine, the American Board of Family Medicine, and the Association of Family Medicine Residency Directors. Our department has a strong record of recruiting diverse faculty, and has one of the highest proportions of under-represented minority faculty in the School of Medicine.

Current Faculty

Staff

DFM staff members have diverse educational backgrounds and areas of expertise. The staff is divided into professional, clinical, and clerical. Professional staff members include the chief administrator, who holds three advanced degrees and has been with the university for 19 years; the chief financial officer holds an MBA; a staff CPA; and research staff who hold advanced degrees in health administration, public health, and have expertise in statistics. Clinical staff include coding experts who provide faculty and staff education; clerical staff members hold a variety of degrees and certificates from specific skill programs. All staff members are encouraged to further their education, and time and support are provided to do so. The Deborah I. Allen Scholarship provides financial resources for staff to pursue undergraduate degrees.
