Medical Education: Introduction to Clinical Medicine - ICM-I

The first of a two-year program, ICM-I explores themes related to the doctor-patient relationship. Communication, community, culture, ethics, and human development are covered in this small group session. Ten Family Medicine physicians and behavioral faculty lead five groups during the first year of medical school. Family Medicine offers one ICM-I group taught completely in Spanish. During the 2005-06 school year, Family Medicine will provide a group specializing in underserved medicine. The ICM-I course is coordinated by the Internal Medicine Department.
