Shobha Pais, Ph.D.

Clinical Adjunct Assistant Professor, Marital Family TherapistDr. Pais serves as director behavioral science and is responsible for resident teaching, residency behavioral science curriculum, and resident evaluation. She received her doctorate in marriage and family therapy from Purdue University and her master's degree is in developmental psychology.

Dr. Pais was elected to the board of the International Family Therapy Association for the term 2004-2007. She was the Chair of the Ethics Committee, American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy for the year 2004 and has served as chair of the legislative and membership committees of the Indiana Association of Marriage and Family Therapy. She has been the column editor for the Journal of Clinical Activities, Assignments and Handouts in Psychotherapy Practice.

Her research interests include ethics, family violence, chronic illness, disability and caregiving, HIV/AIDS issues in the context of therapy, gender and culture.
