Alvin J. Haley, M.D.

Emeritus FacultyDr. Haley serves as Professor Emeritus of Clinical Professor Family Medicine. After receiving his medical degree from Indiana University School of Medicine, Dr. Haley completed his rotating internship at Lutheran Hospital, Ft. Wayne, Indiana in 1954. Dr. Haley's present special interests in medicine are medical ethics, dangers of alternative medicine, what family practice can learn from the bible, and "keeping up." 

Prior to joining the IU Department of Family Medicine, Dr. Haley was Director of Methodist Hospital (Indianapolis, IN) Residency Program from 1980-1997. From 1972-1980, he was the Director of Ft. Wayne Family Practice Residency Program.  Dr. Haley is a past president of both the Indiana Academy of Family Physicians and the Indiana State Medical Association. 

Dr. Haley is a member if the American Medical Association and is certified by the American Board of Family Practice. In his free time, Dr. Haley enjoys spending time with his wife, five children, and three grandchildren. Additionally, he enjoys participating in his church, gardening, and brushing up on history.
