Peter Nalin,
M.D.
Associate Professor of
Clinical Family Medicine

Dr. Peter Nalin serves
as Associate Dean for Graduate Medical Education for the Indiana
University School of Medicine. He is board certified by the American Board of Family
Medicine.
Dr. Nalin attended
Cornell University prior to earning his M.D. degree from the
University of Vermont. Lancaster General Hospital was the site of
his three-year residency in Family Medicine. After residency, he
joined the staff of the DeRuyter Health Center, a rural
not-for-profit community health center in Central New York.
Dr. Nalin served as a
founding faculty member of the Lafayette Family Medicine Residency,
near Syracuse, New York, and served as its residency director for
more than four years. In 1998, he completed the fellowship of the
National Institute for Program Director Development. Since moving to
Indianapolis, Dr. Nalin directed the IU FP Residency where he is an
Associate Professor of Clinical Family Medicine.
Since
2000, Dr. Nalin earned recognition as a Fellow of the American
Academy of Family Physicians. Elected to the Board of Directors of
the Association of Family Medicine Residency Directors (AFMRD) in
2002, Dr. Nalin currently serves as Past-President of AFMRD and
Chair of the Organization of Program Director Associations (OPDA).
In 2005, Dr. Nalin earned the bronze level Program Director
Recognition Award from AFMRD.
Dr. Nalin's
professional interests include family medicine, medical education,
student advising, quality improvement in professional education, and
geographical information systems in healthcare.
